Confidentiality & Privacy Policy
All information we discuss in the context of your sessions is private and confidential unless:
Suspected child, dependent, or elder abuse
Disclosure of use/possession of child pornography
Threatening serious bodily harm to another person or persons
In these cases, I am required by law to report to appropriate authorities immediately and the intended victim, if applicable.
If you intend to harm yourself, I will make every effort I can to enlist your cooperation to ensure your safety. If you are unable/unwilling to cooperate, I will take further measures without your permission that are provided to me by law to ensure your safety.
Electronic & Tele-health Privacy
Provider uses HIPPA-compliant email encryption for client communication.
Provider uses TherapyNotes.com for telebehavioral health services, a HIPPA-compliant platform.
Electronic communication (email, texting, apps) are used for scheduling purposes only and do not serve as a means of providing services.
All methods of communication are HIPAA-compliant.
Electronic Records
Client information and summary notes are stored electronically through TherapyNotes.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellations made with 24-hour (or less) notice or no shows will be billed at 100% of your session’s rate (to the card kept on file). Cancellations made with more than 24-hour’s notice will not be charged.
However, I understand that emergencies do arise. If you are experiencing an emergency situation or illness and need to cancel your session, please contact me as soon as possible.
No Surprises Act
I adhere to the No Surprises Act. This federal medical bill of rights (as of January 1, 2022) protects clients and patients from unexpected medical bills.
